REGISTERED DIETITIAN

cristina sutterCristina Sutter is a Registered Dietitian with ten years of experience providing nutrition and exercise counseling and seminars.
She has a Bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Simon Fraser University and worked as a personal trainer before earning her Masters degree in Nutrition at the University of Toronto.
As an athlete herself, Cristina has a special interest in sport performance and has competed in marathon running, rowing and swimming. Cristina is a Canadian Sport Centre – Pacific Sport Dietitian and provides nutrition coaching to BC’s elite athletes, who are going to world championships. She co-authored the sport nutrition courses at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser Universityand currently teaches the third year sport nutrition course at UBC. This unique blend of exercise and nutrition background allows her to design a complete lifestyle plan for her clients to achieve their health goals.In addition, she has managed regional programs for pregnancy, infant care and chronic disease management, further adding to her areas of expertise. She is highly skilled at assessing the relationship between self-esteem, stress and eating behaviours and she has helped many clients to understand and overcome their emotional relationship with food.

NUTRITION SERVICES:

Nutrition Assessment (60 min): Cristina will review your weight, exercise, diet and medical history and provide specific feedback and simple changes that will help achieve your health and fitness goals.
Follow up Sessions (30 min): Cristina will give you new goals as you progress and help you develop strategies to overcome setbacks and keep you on track. She will help you unlearn bad habits and learn how to make the best food choices at the grocery store, in restaurants and on special occasions.
Most diet programs do not evoke lifestyle changes because they are too rigid. Individual nutrition coaching will adjust your current eating patterns to give you the nutrition you need, in a lifestyle that works for you.

Mary Flesher

Mary Flesher is a Registered Dietitian with 15 years experience. She has a Master's Degree in Leadership in Health (Royal Roads University) and a Bachelor Degree in Nursing from University of British Columbia. After completing her internship in Victoria, she worked as both a nurse and a dietitian until deciding on the career path of nutrition. She served on the Board for the Canadian Society of Intestinal Research for 10 years. Her special interests lie in chronic diseases, diabetes, heart disease and kidney disease. She also has worked for many years in the areas of pregnancy, infant care, primary care and chronic diseases. She plays ice hockey and soccer and is currently working on becoming a personal trainer and sports nutritionist. Mary has published over 40 articles and is the author of one book.

Nutrition Assessment (60 min.): Mary will review your diet and medical history and recommend simple changes to achieve your health and dietary goals. Follow-up Sessions (30 min.): Mary will build on your existing goals or give you new goals and strategies to keep you on track. She will help you adjust your eating patterns to align with your lifestyle.
